I fell for the cover, I thought it was just so damn gorgeous.

Yes, I did read the blurb before buying — I might be a Cover Girl, but I still use my mind — occasionally. But the reason why she is being kept with them is being withheld from her. She takes walks with her around I fell over this short story by chance. Suddenly our girl can see past some of the things that are bothering her, she starts to feel again and is surprised by Idris.

I liked this story a great deal. Yes, it IS a short story, and as usual, I want to know more. I want to know more about the different worlds there are seven , the different races and definitely more about the characters. Especially our Heroine. Her emotional experience in her new home is limited. The ending intrigued me as well I will NOT reveal it here though. The flow was even and it was easy to read, and best of all, she opened the lid on an entire new world. My biggest complaint is this: Lost in the Seven Worlds was too short.

From what little I could gather the world-building in this story is much more complex than could be contained in a short story. I would love to learn more about the Daevas and their customs but short stories are, well, just too short. This is a great short story, it truly is.

The only problem is the story itself is far too complex for the medium. In all honesty, this would be a great novel. However, I have to judge it based on its format. And the truth is, Lost in the Seven Worlds was more than a little confusing, especially at the end. Overall, I think this short story was decent. I give this short story 3. Jul 05, Vincenzo Bilof rated it really liked it. With smooth prose that beautifully highlights the surreality of the story's setting, "Lost in the Seven Worlds" is a pleasurable read that foretells the emergence of a new talent in Petronelu Ungureanu.

The romantic nature of the storytelling should not be lost on the reader; the prose will sweep you breathlessly into the arms of immortals who live in worlds we can only dream of. Forbidden love and an "us against the world" mentality is the foundation of blossoming, true romance, and Ungureanu captures this emotion with ease.

The protagonist's conflicted thoughts and taboo desires remind us of what it must feel like to fall in love when nobody else believes your love should be real. I would prefer a much longer rendition of this same story in which we see the love between the characters develop over time; I wanted to be shown the love rather than told, and I believe Petronelu is more than capable of delivering.

I would like to see Ungureanu torment the character with this knowledge over a longer narrative. For a quick read full of thick, romantic prose, you can't go wrong with this story. Ungureanu has world-class writing ability, and I think many readers would find this enjoyable. Apr 05, Nicolette Grey rated it it was amazing. Are you on the train to work? From the first word of this captivating romance to the last, Ungureanu paints a multi-hued palate of a world where possibilities exist that are outside our realm of experience. Her words, literary and lyrical, will draw you into the seven worlds as her heroine battles isolation, sorrow, and confusion…until her newfound love gives her hope for the future.

Oct 03, Mega Shot rated it did not like it. I read it twice, just in case I missed something. I didn't miss a thing. There were many different species, but only one world. The author was over descriptive when it came to places and appearances, and how one character fantasied about another. The story in my opinion , lacked depth. In the final few pages, an interesting story began to unfold; however, it was at that moment when the story came to a screeching halt! It was a disappointing experience. I only paid ninety-nine cents for this book, but even that was too much.

There is nothing wrong with short stories, novellas or anthologies. I buy them all the time, and enjoy them. As long as they are complete stories.

This one missed the mark. Judging by the last few pages, I think the author had a great concept, and is creative. I think if they were to team up with a writing coach and an editor that are willing to point out plot holes and keep the author on track, this story could be a hit.

I will watch for more stories from this author. IMHO the author has potential, and with the right guidance, they could become a best seller. Apr 24, Natasha House rated it it was amazing. Lost in the Seven Worlds This book had me interested when I first started reading. The world the author creates is very beautiful and unique, and the race of Daevas was very interesting. I felt like there was a lot of depth that the author had flowing through her mind as she wrote this book. I could tell this is just a teaser. I'm thinking that there is a lot more to this story.

I felt like the lore was cool, and the author used very descriptive words. I actually had to look some of them up. I kind of liked that though! Most the time it seems a lot of stories are written the same. This had an "old fashioned" feel to it, but without making me bored. Probably the only thing I would say to critique this book would be a few errors in it. The grammar is a little rough in spots. I think the dialogue got a little bit overwhelming at a few parts because there were no action tags or dialogue tags in there. I followed who was speaking pretty well, but I would suggest throwing in a few action tags so the reader can "see" what the charters are doing.

Great little story over all!! Very beautiful! Dec 18, Autumn rated it really liked it. I received this book to give an honest review. It looks just amazing so beautifully done. Now when I started reading this story I was like okay it is only 19 pages how much can be really told within that many pages. And let me say a lot was written it, I would like to read more maybe book two? Or maybe even a series? The cliffhanger left me going hmm what more can happen between these two characters.

This author has a real writing talent. You get a mentio I received this book to give an honest review. You get a mention of the Seven Worlds but not enough detail on them. Maybe in another story there will be more focus towards them. You do learn a lot about the different races that are living on one of the worlds. The relationship between the heroine who was taken from Earth at such a young age and Lord Idris is one that I can see developing into something more.

I do wish there was more to her kidnapping I know that she was given a vague answer but I still would have liked to have known more the only think I hope for is a possible book two for more answers and details. May 05, Rhys Ethan rated it really liked it. Her characters are very aristocratic and rich in depth. In a very short amount of time I mean I read it in half an hour almost she manages to build dimensional characters and worlds and leave the reader wanting more, which I think is only one of its two possible flaws, the other being that because of the shortness of the read, Ungureanu rained us with information that made it overwhelming at some points, having to stop so I could process what was said.

I hope there is a sequel to quench my thirst, but even though it might seem like it with the ending, my fear is that it's a one off. One can only hope. Jun 20, Jonel rated it really liked it. She put just enough description in to allow the reader to imagine the characters. It fit perfectly with this short story. It was quite enjoyable. Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review. Jul 01, Zoe rated it it was amazing. This very short read is extremely different from what I would normally read. To me, a short story is something in an anthology, not the Kindle, but it was very well done.

Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish fantasy from science fiction, and the world building and character creation leaves the reader wanting more - a lot more, if I'm being honest, but this is preferential treatment and how I was taught at university. That being said, it's well crafted and had me intrigued from the start. Beaut This very short read is extremely different from what I would normally read.

Beautifully written, it's clear that Ms Ungureanu is a lover of fiction and her craft. I'd like to read more of her work! Jan 20, Shasha rated it it was ok Shelves: typos , tragedy , clean. The writing is full of flowery word pictures that made it easy to imagine and the dialogue is very formal. However, it could use some editing to make the story less rough--there are typos, along with punctuation mistakes, and page long paragraphs.

There is a redundancy of information about the hero that used up space in this less than 30 page story. I also found it hard to believe a 16 year old would know about Dorian Grey, unless she is schooled about Earth in this fantasy land. She may have le The writing is full of flowery word pictures that made it easy to imagine and the dialogue is very formal. She may have learned her overly proper speech there but it would be a big adjustment. The idea is tragic and romantic but fell flat for me. Jun 14, Jacquie Talento rated it it was amazing.

This is a short story but one well worth reading as it teases you into the next book to the series. As I read about the different worlds and Daevas, this book pulled me in in no time at all. The ending tease to this story will give you the unexpected ending and how Ms. Ugureanu hit you with a major surprise. Mar 19, Kelley Nightrose rated it it was amazing. This is an intriguing, short story. I enjoyed Petronela's writing style and her unique vision. My only criticism is that it left me with too many questions. If this was a stand alone story, I'd be hesitant to rate it so highly, but I have it on good authority that this is just a taste of what's to come.

Jul 06, Sarah Carr rated it it was amazing. Petronela Ungureanu has painted a beautiful canvas with words instead of paints. Smears of vivid imagery, streaks of compelling emotion and swirls of propelling plot will send you through this story, page after page. The author's voice is mature and inviting, leaving the reader wanting more. I sincerely hope to see more from Ms.

Ungureanu in the future. Kudos on a job well done! Nov 13, Marsha rated it it was amazing Shelves: I love the mystery and intrigue. Love the cover too. The characters are strong and solid, for such a short writing. I hope to see where they go from here. Apr 07, Gabriella Lepore rated it it was amazing. Just beautiful. Apr 23, Robert Zimmermann rated it liked it.

It sounded like an interesting story line. This is a short story of around words. There are parts of the short story form that I feel worked for the story, but I feel it may have also hindered the story from fully developing. There is a place very unlike Earth in this story, and outside of the Seven Worlds. Another thing that irked me a bit was, what I feel is, the overuse of ellipses in the dialogue. There is a place for them in dialogue, and a bit in the regular prose, but in the later half of the book I felt that there came about too frequently and became cumbersome to the reading.

Even though I feel that the ending was a little rushed and left more questions than conclusions, I did enjoy the story. I liked the Daevas and how they were described. I hope that Ungureanu explores it more and shares with her readers. Apr 02, Maria rated it really liked it. This is a short but sweet work of fantasy by a novelist of Rumanian origin, Petronela Ungureanu.

Sometimes I find myself a little wary of fantasy novels because they either have to be done really well, or not at all. Some fantasy novels are just a smokescreen for a mindless erotica fest. This book is no such thing. I think that this one has merit and is an enjoyable reading experience. The author has a voice which is engaging and compelling - you keep wanting to read more.
